Weâve made a new friend yaâll, someone who, like us, values the culture of unique and individual festival moments. Braindance Collective, run by videographer Logan Fuller, is a media platform sharing dynamic and immersive experiences through the lens of a curious curator engaging with the external festival experiences at hand. The greater social vision of Braindance Collective is to become an organization dedicated to giving a platform to aspiring artists who want to contribute meaningful art - sound familiar?
According to Logan, âa braindance is a piece of content that represents an authentic subjective experience of any person which is able to be transmitted from one consciousness to another - a consumable immersive memory. Itâs a concept in the Cyperpunk 2077 universe (which is also where my handle @braindancecollective was derived).â
With a 360 camera, Logan makes a "360 Braindance" which is a representation of his imagination while in the audience at the show. He reframes the video and guides the viewerâs eye towards the most interesting thing happening in that moment â usually itâs the stage, but it might be something else. Gradually, the frame morphs into a tiny planet, then it zooms, twists, flips, and spins in harmony with the music. All the lasers overhead curve around the convex lens and the scene turns into a visualizer composed of the real moment the audience is sharing.
I'm interested in the personal element of the stories through the lens of the art and the artist. Everyone at festivals is so inspired to create and share their own art â I want to share those artistsâ stories by giving them a platform. At festivals, it's easy to identify artists who happily share their art and then capture their moment. Those moments are extremely meaningful and personal to those people â aspiring artists are the ones who genuinely appreciate the attention the most. From those personal connections, I form relationships, hear more stories, meet their friends, record interviews, and learn more about the people who attend festivals. Everything is in service to making the most meaningful art possible.
Braindance Collective is planning to hit Burning Man as well, so make sure to put your heads together and create something wonderful!
If you have any special people or organizations in the festival world that you would like to highlight, be sure to let us know.

After a 4-year hiatus, Camp Flog Gnaw is back! The alt-hip hop fans are going absolutely crazy, after Tyler announced the artists via a livestream of his team painting the lineup as a mural in LA. For some, the roster is anticlimactic, but for the OG mid- and late- 2010âs fans, this is the excitement and nostalgia of the century. The festival, originally named OFWGKTA Carnival, contained headliners like the Odd Future cast, Lil Wayne, Action Bronson, and Trash Talk. Itâs a beautiful thing to witness the lineup evolve and see where Tyler, the Creator was at the time of each year in his musical career.
Other stories to check this week:

Burning Man is right around the corner, and with some Burner vets in our own community, we have compiled some words of wisdom for how to prepare if youâre a first-timer.
Read the values, understand them, ask questions about them and live them.
Spend time alone, be present, connect with people. Get lost in the dust.
Make loose plans always. What you need to do and where you need to be will be present. Donât try to see everything or do everything. Follow whatâs provided to you in the moment.
Catch a sunrise set.
Make sure you are visible at night. Light your bikes, yourself, and the people around you. Take this seriously.
Oh, donât chase DJs⌠Allow music to accent and accentuate your greater experience. Youâll see the music youâre supposed to and when you do, itâll be that much more magical.
1. First, learn the 12 Principles to practice them when on Playa (at the Burn) and hopefully bring them into your daily life afterwards. Also would be good to find one that is your favorite (mine is âleave no traceâ)
2. Find your community, which will serve as your solace and temporary home during your time in Black Rock City. Finding camp that has good/central placement is also critical so you can get back and forth easily (noting that navigating at night can be difficult) and to access all the fun things happening all week.
3. Plan ahead by preparing your total duration (consider if youâre going early for build week and/or taking time to decompress somewhere after), think about how youâll nourish yourself (food/drink at camp and the fun pleasures that are oftentimes magically gifted or desired) and what youâll wear (to radically express yourself through art/fun costumes)!
If you did some music sightseeing during your week, let us know so we can share your experience with the community!

Buried Apparel- the Proportietary Future Shawl
Itâs only a matter of time before shows and festivals get smart and understand the crowd wants your festival memory on a wild item, not just a t-shirt.

The crew at Buried is starting with Big Dub and I wont be surprised if theyâre at most shows and festivals by 2025. Theyâre more than just triply designs, theyâre versatile with multiple storage spaces.
Elias and Allie started back in 2014 making trap pins for Diplo and Flosstradamus, they never thought their passion/hobby would be become their main business in 2023. Beyond the Shawls, they have accessories, clothing, hats, everything you need to kit the fit. Kudos to these creators for staying with it and bringing their minds to the scene!

P.S. HQ is about to stock up on these pendants as theyâre pure đĽ

Motel Club made a playlist just for you. Their specially curated catalogue is for your safekeeping, a groovy transportation through time and space. If youâve experienced them live, you know exactly how to set the scene in your imagination - clearly we miss being on the dance floor with them. But theyâve saved the day for a portable experience wherever you go!
